The Ponderosa meets the 21st century in this lovely new outdoor kitchen in Scottsdale. It’s an excellent blend of rustic appeal and all the modern conveniences. And what better surroundings than the wild beauty of the open desert? It’s the perfect spot to kick back and unwind.
These clients elected to outfit their open air room with everything you need to entertain in casual style. The BBQ cabinet is finished in stucco and has a rustic concrete top. And it’s got all the functions important to today’s patio chef: a large built-in grill, two-burner cook top, a refrigerator, drink cooler, sink, and a storage cabinet. The cook also has lots of prep and serving space on the open counter stretching between the grill and the sink.
In addition to the comfort of outdoor living in the solid shade of a covered porch there’s a place for the chef and friends to sit at the adjacent fire channel bar. It’s large enough to accommodate 8 tall bar stools and still leave plenty of traffic and cooking room behind seated guests. Good flow is so important to the ultimate functionality of any outdoor space, just as it is in the rooms inside a home. The bar is finished in the same stucco cabinet and rustic concrete top.
Let’s not forget what’s under foot… a handsome floor of over sized tumbled travertine pavers, which leads to a quiet corner across the patio with a bigger outdoor fire pit.
